question about obdI map sensor
i have a 99+ titan built 4.6L stroker that i purchased from a friend with about 1800 miles on it. i put it in my 94 cherokee. im running 2.5" exhaust fromt he headers back, stock header, 24lb blue top mustang cobra injectors, afe cold air intake, and an adjustable map sensor. my problem is with my map sensor. after driving it for about 30 minutes if im sitting at a red light i notice that my oil pressure will just tank to 0. at that time the engine heat starts increasing and every once in a while it will throw a check engine light saying that the map sensor voltage is too low/high. i can not figure out what the problem is. i have it set at about 5.6v at idle. does anyone have any experience with this?

Re: question about obdI map sensor
Try reduction the voltage on the MAP sensor.
However you have other problems. Oil pressure dropping to 0 and overheating. The only way that can be related to the MAP sensor is if the MAP sensor is telling the PCM to add to much fuel, sending fuel past the rings into the crank case and the oil. Gas diluted oil doesn't lube very well. What is your AFR like?

I hate to tell you this, but that is probably your biggest problem. You might want to do some internal engine investigating.

Re: question about obdI map sensor
i just drained the oil about 3 weeks ago. and it didnt really look diluted at all. i dont have a wideband yet just an off the shelf a/f ratio gauge but ive been told that they are not very accurate. only thing im wondering is if it is running too lean and running hot thinning the oil some. or am i just out in left field with that one?
