So here is my situation. I am getting ready to start building my stroker for the comanche, but am kind of mixed up as far as which route to take.
Ice collected a bunch of parts some of it was left over, and come stuff was meant for a regular rebuild.
So far i have:
12 Counterweight 258 Crank
Set of 4.2 and 4.0 Rods
93 4.0l Block, Bored 0.030, New cam bearings, new freeze plugs, all Checked and cleaned.
93 4.0l HO Head
.030 Piston Rings
Silvolite 2229 Pistons, 0.030
Hesco RVOB Cam w/ new valve springs , and lifters.
Mopar HV oil pump
Double Timing Chain Kit
Main / Rod Bearings 0.010
Full Gasket Set, not sure of head gasket thickness... will update soon.
So my question is... I want to be able to run pump gas. I don't mind premium, but would prefer like 87-89 octane. What kind of pistons should i use to keep my compression ratio near stock? How about quench, that is one of the things i have not yet understood. What can i do to keep quench around .50? I am not opposed to buying the keith black forged offset pin pistons if it is worth it, and will somehow help me achieve the recommended numbers. I have also heard that i can have my 2229 pistons machined to have a larger dish. If so how much needs to be machined, and who does that kind of work?
I've got tons of questions but thats plenty for now. I will be very grateful to anyone who can help me out or shoot some info.
Thanks in advance.
