Meth injection on a N/a 4.0. Before this starts off on the wrong foot, let me explain!
Is it worth it? Sure its worth it...we already have high air intake temps, and these 4.0s don't like much compression unless your on high octane gas. So in order to make more power your forced to run that higher octane...but wait thats where meth comes in!
Meth injection cools the intake charge..cooler air will help fight of detenation. And it will effectively raise the octane raiting of the gas being injected into the motor! So you can run say 87oct & meth and have it equal to 91/93oct. It will also steam clean your motor..quite litterally! Meth is cheap once you buy a kit..we used to run rubbing alcohol straight out of the dollar store..and 1 tank of meth would usually last 2 tanks of gas..but it truely depends on how much you go WOT. Think about the price difference difference between 87 & 93oct. Thats a decent amount..with meth you can run 87 octane, and when you go WOT the meth will start spraying and give you the same, but also better effect of higher octane gas!
I set up my CPS so it'd advance my timing by 6*, and I got detenation right away on 87oct. Good thing I have a renix and that knock sensor cut the timing back..Meth or higher octane gas would of help me here, by allowing me to run the extra timing & there for making more power!
You say isn't meth for forced induction? NO! Meth is beneficial if you have high AIT's, or run high comp and can't take advantage of all the power/timing availiable because of detenation! So meth would be very very beneficial for these 4.0's and I'm surprised I haven't seen it around yet!
I guess I made this thread to spark interest and get help! Usually in a boosted application the meth works off the boost..so whenever you hit Xpsi it would turn on and wouldn't turn off until you were under that set target!
With it on a N/A setup, I've seen it work off of the signal of the MAF or MAP..I'm not 100% sure and need help figuring this part out! I'm on LS1tech and those guys are a big help, but I also need intellegence from the 4.0 world!
Since my motors being rebuilt, I may up the compression a little by using a smaller dish piston, and then running the meth vs higher octane gas...I just need insight of how this would work on a jeep..like how to trigger it..

i ran meth in my cooper s for a long time with great results . sold the car and went jeep . i'll likely do it to the stroker motor too . may go one in each runner . still just a notion now . cooling mist has good products . variable to on -off . whatever you like . they have a pump-in-tank unit that is very well made . meth around here is about 35.00 for 5 gallons . i ran a 60/40 mix in the cooper and sometimes 100% meth for fun . power from seat of pants was noticeable . for those who dyno-tune , dont tune to the meth in case you ever were to run out of it .
just enjoy the lack of timing retarding . and clean cyl's .

If you use your washer fluid resivior you'd never have that problem! My 88 even has a low fluid light which will let you know whenever the fluids get to low. And if you use rubbing alcohol from the dollar store its the same as meth and 100x cheaper..no need to mix it, just pour it in and go. Always used this stuff never any issues even over a 3 year period! Never an issue!
