I amhave my 4.9 stroker built and the topic arose i am using a bigger cam than it is normally built with because my application is an 200 xj used mostly for mud racing .... my question is what do i need as far as a computer flash? programer or tuner? to make this work and where do i start aquiring them ..... pls keep in mind this is my first build am fairly new to to doing the custum thing

I recommend that you buy an obd2 scanner so that you can monitor your fuel trims, a wideband o2 sensor pre-cat so that you can monitor your afrs, and either an adjustable map(strokedjeep.com sells a cheap one), a piggyback controller(AEM, Split Second, Apexi, etc), or a full stand alone(AEM EMS, Accel DFI, etc), so that you can dial in/out fuel. You'll find out rather quickly if the injectors you have are cutting it with the info from the scanner and wideband o2. -fuel trims mean pcm is pulling out fuel, +fuel trims mean that it is adding it. You want the fuel trims as close to zero as possible and then a WOT with an AFR of 12.5-.8:1 for best power in an NA app.
