Something that I've been thinking about in the back of my mind...
When I was installing the stroker in this ZJ I noticed that the flex-plate is not positively indexed to the crank(no pin, I do realize that the bolt pattern only allows a single position), and that there were a * or two of rotational play, I looked at it & measured the bolt holes to determine that they weren't egg shaped, then just installed it, on the advance side as I remember(if I'm not mistaken that would effectively advance my timing a deg. or two) .
So here are my two questions:
1. Should it be installed so as to adv. or retard the CPS?
and
2. Does it even really matter as I suppose it's possible that even with the clamping force of the 6 bolts it will work its way back against the bolts under engine torque?
Index/Install position of Flex Plate?
