23lb Stroker Injectors??

Post by Muad'Dib »

Im looking for some 23lb Injectors for my Stroker.. does anyone have any recommendations?

I have thought about 24lb as they are more common it seems however from my calculations they may be just right, if not then just slightly too much... instead of decreasing fuel pressure or adjusting the map down, i thought i could go with 23lbr's and increase fuel pressure a few #'s if need be...

Thanks!

Depends on your stroker combination and your management system. If you have OBD 1 and a 39psi fuel pressure, you could use Accel 24lb'ers (rated at 43.5psi) and the injector flow would be 22.7lb/hr.

I have used ford 24 lb/hr injectors for a long time without any problems in my stroker 4.6 (It is a H.O. of 1997, OBD II).
The electronic computer of engine is able to adjust properly the air fuel ratio in all conditions of work of motor.

Ive done the calculations and as i stated in my original post, 24#'s might be right on.. if not a little rich again. If so i would rather adjust the fuel pressure up to get the right AFR instead of down.. the same applies to the adj MAP.

Im specifically looking for suggestions on 23lb injectors @ 3bar aka 43.5PSI.

Thanks

Why? It's preferable to select an injector that's a little big and adjust the MAP downwards rather than the other way round. I had the same Ford 24lb injectors I have now back when I had my old modified 4.0. At that time I had the MAP set at 4.3v and the AF ratios were spot on. Now I have it set at 5.3v.

Everytime ive tried to adjust the map on my RENIX it caused hard / long cranking starts and rough running in the morning.. or after long periods of cool down. It would run great otherwise. Additionally i just didnt like the way it ran with the lower fuel pressure. I know if you drop fuel pressure you can start running into issues with automization. I dont think my logic is compleltly unsound.

The problem is though finding a decent set of 23# injectors is just about slim to none so i may just be limited and have to deal with richness @ wot.
