You probably know this already, but if you don't lead and O2 sensors don't get along too well.

100LL AVGas will let a new set of narrowband O2 sensors live for 10K - 25K miles... *IF* he is maintaining a closed loop oxygen sensor ECU for the baja race... then you should be able to just replace the sensors each race and be fine.

Brad Penn has a semi-synthetic high zinc oil and Joe Gibbs makes a good dino oil with high zinc. And as I said before the Valvoline Racing oil is good (not the VR1).
Amsoil has revised this bulletin and has added more oils with high levels of zinc:

My next oil change will use Z-ROD 10W30 but for the OP there is a list of racing oils that you should use.
4.7L Stroker, 4.88 Ford 8.8 w/Auburn ECTED, HP30 w/ARB, AX-15, NP231 w/RR SYE, 33x10.50 BFG A/T, 4" Skyjacker, 1" body lift, 1" MORE motor mounts, Kilby fuel tank skid, UCF ultra-high clearance 1/4" skid, HMMWV-style snorkel, 63mm TB
