carb and HEI on a stroker
I'm still working on building a stroker for My wife's xj that she "mud races only". What are the cons of using a Hei distributor, clifford intake, and a 4 barrel carb. I'm wanting to run as much compression and lift as I can, and was wondering if the adjust ability is worth loosing the MPFI. Anyone out there running a carbed race jeep??? Thanks

Re: carb and HEI on a stroker
The class my dad races requires an inline six or Flathead V8, he runs a carbed 280" AMC engine, it's also required to run a 1bbl carb, so more carb would be good! and he runs the AMC/DURASPARK distributor with a GM HEI modual, I also believe that he has the biggest hydraulic cam the Crower offers in it, just make sure that your valve train is compatible with the cam and your good to go!
You can get more power out of ANY engine!!!
