DTB manifold

Post by mountaineerjeff »

well I have pretty much got this thing finished and really like how it turned out, just wanted to get your guy's thought on it.

I picked it up from Tom a couple weeks ago, but it was originally built by John Brown for SIX PAK. I finished up the few parts that were rushed and put my own spin on it. it is about 95% complete now. waiting on the linkage and a couple other small details (coated fuel rail)

all the details are in my build thread http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/my-kinda-jeep-84018/

all criticism is appreciated

Nice job. Looks much like Hesco's "double trouble" intake manifold with twin throttle bodies. I'm very impressed with the work you've done on the rest of your Jeep. :rockout:

well I picked up some nice black allen head bolts for the TBs and the block off plate. pretty much got everything cleaned up and finished.

and then the bad news...it doesnt FIT IN AN XJ!!!!!!!!!!!

It hits the brake booster! I really dont think there is anything I can do about it, so I guess its for sale for anyone that wants to take my awesome project and put it on a wrangler.....probably going to have to throw this up on some other sites, but I got to get my $ back out of it to finish the jeep...

Im just really disappointed right now, I dont even know what to do know, I mean it was kinda the defining point of my build.

who needs brakes? aslong as you have a big enough front bumper use the car in front of you  or you could always use manual brakes like the old cjs had

That's a damn shame after all that hard work but I'm sure a TJ owner will take it. You could buy a '00+ intake manifold instead and you'll still be happy.
