fuel\alcohol mix?

is it good to mix fuel with alcohol (5-10%) to get a higher octane rate and cooler intake charge ?
i know i need to make the fuel system alcohol approved (lines,carb',fuel pump)
is it worth it?
the engine is n\a 4.6 carb'd stroker
i know about alcohol injection kits but i understand that the gain is minimal on n/a engines, i was thinking to go that way so i could get rid of pingging on high revs and get the ignition more advanced.

Personally I don't care for it, they shove E10 down our throats here, my jeep (FI) just gets shitty mileage, my International (carb) seems to run ok on it with no alterations.
