Depends how far you want to go if you have the porting and polishing kit you can clean up the oil drain back passages in the block a little. Before final cleaning, or before you take it to the machine shop. If you really want to doa lot of work you can clean up the casting on the block and head for better drain back (although i really don't know how much that actually helps). Same with the crank if it hasn't already been balanced. Be careful around any machined surfaces.
Nice''' Thanks for the heads UP''' I will be doing some porting, on the head, intake & exhaust and I'll post
pics of this 3033 WJ Head for the 3033 ??? Head Thread or its a 3303, Well'' whatever its called

I went in and talked to My machinist today, and I asked about his 258 crank, so we went out to the back
yard to take a look, and sure enough there it was, a 12 counter weight short stub 258 with rods and pistons
''still in the block'' Wow thats nice, how much for the crank and rods, 75 bucks 10 a pice for the rods, awesome
just as he said''. Iam doing the porting to help with the time/cost, which, he does'nt have time and I really
dont want to pay 100$ hr going price's, so he'll show me what I need to do, Iam pretty good welding and
grinding, matching the ports, and stuff, ''I thank I got this''. Total $$$$ for this rebuild? KB pistons
Clevite bearings , well you guys know the list'' 1200 $ ''' NOW'' Thats nice''

Ive talked to Bill @ Fuel Injector Conection They got me coverd, all I need is some nice weather
and I'll be pulling this little 4.0 out and its on its way to my machinist to be transformed to the
4.5 / 4.6 the 4.6 does look better, because you have to boar out the cylinders anyway
so if that beening the case'' might-as-well ''

off of the fuel rail, What''s up, do you guys have ant tricks, Ive tryed everything and no go
is using the 4.0 rods better than the 4.2 rods, I see more guys use the 4.0's . Iam using the KB
pistions as well, BUT'' I dont really know, what my machinist will use, but I do know there KB's

So I'm about ready to install my new 4.6 motor, I have the RE42 automatic trans, so I'm looking at my flex plate
and it has the crank shaft position sencer timing holes on the flex plate. My Question is how do I reline this plate
on my new 4.2 crankshaft so my ECM will read it properly, I mean is there an order for it ? like does it start on
# one pistion ??

I know the flywheel only bolts on one way due to hole spacing even though one might think that it could mount 6-different ways. Are you sure the flex plate isn't the same way?
