which intake?

Post by jbxx »

I have a choice to make here.
I am stroking an 88 Renix ( when I get pistons)
I have the head, intake and exhaust manifolds from the Renix ( with all sensors,TB and ECM ) complete.
I have a donor 7120 from a 95 with the intake, exhaust, TB, all sensors and no ECM.
I want to use the 7120, which intake and exhaust?
Any suggestions?
J.B.
P.S. it looks like the Renix will bolt up to the 7120 fine.
The TB on the 95 looks bigger

I would use the 7120, a 99+ intake manifold, and make an adapter to use the renix tps on the ho tb. Another option would be to get your renix tb bored to 60mm(leigh performance) and make a plate to adapt the the 3 bolt renix tb to the 4 bolt mount on the 99+ intake manifold(91+ have the same 4-bolt mounting). The renix throttle cable linkage is a different set-up as well, so you might need the ho linkage if you're using an ho tb.
