Main bearings question

Post by jbxx »

Still waiting for my pistons ( coming up on ten months ).
I thought of another question. What kind of bearings would you use with a Scat crank and a 88 Renix block?
I want to get building on this thing, I'm a patient guy, but my limits are being tested here!

I have used Cevites in the past with out issue on the mains. However my last bearings have been Kings and I would not use them on the mains again. Thickness is inconsistent and the crush area was rubbing on the crank. I sent them back to king about a week ago and they have not addressed the issue yet. Bearings were measured with a mic and that is hen the thickness was found inconsistent. I don't have any personal experience with coated bearings yet, but I have heard pretty good reports of coated bearings. If you want to spend about $30 more over un coated bearings I would talk to calico coatings about bearings.

Clevite or FederalMogul, you need them to fit the BLOCK and whatever size the crank is, STD, .010" ect.
You can get more power out of ANY engine!!!

When I called Scat about mine they recommended Clevite or King. Given the earlier post I would stick with Clevite which is what I did on the mains, but used EngineTech from my machine shop since the Clevite rod bearings do not have the necessary oil squirter holes.

Bulltear.
I have had many a communication though.
It is holding up my build.
I'll give them a little more time then, I'll be asking for a refund, and probably go with some KB 944's

10 months is rediculous.
