C.R. in Supercharger Stroker 4.6
Hello
I am new in this forum. I´m from Spain.
I have a Stroker 4.6 with C.R. 9.6 and want to install a supercharger M90.
My question is, what pistons shuld be installed to lower the C.R. to about 8.6?
thanks.

That will depend on your internals and what work has been done as far as decking and boring goes. The Calculator on this site is a great way to figure out what your compression is and what needs to be done to lower it. Personally, I went with Kieth Black 2229's and had them dished out. What is your plan for adding the blower?

Re: C.R. in Supercharger Stroker 4.6
hello
I thougt pistons with dish volume to approximately 30 cc. I have seen Keith Black IC944KTM-30 have a dish voluume +21 cc, but I need more.
How do I reach 30 cc?
Do weaken if you remove the dish until the reach 30 cc?
What dish volume have Keith black 2229-S ?
How do you increase the dish volume ?
Sorry, but I write and understan little English.
I have some pictures but not unpload to the forum.
Thanks.

Nice, It looks like a Rick Rimmer set up. To reach 30cc's, you will probably need to find a good machinist who can dish a set out for you. Maybe there is a piston that has a dish that big, but none that I know of. The 944's are forged, which is probably a good idea with a stroker and a blower. Also, they work great with the longer 4.0 connecting rods. The 2229's are only cast aluminum and have an 11.5cc dish, but I have been told they can be safely machined to 28cc's, and possibly to 30cc. I had mine dished to 25cc's. To use these you need the shorter 258 connecting rods. I haven't built my stroker yet, but I have been running 8 psi on the stock cast pistons and they are holding up just fine.
Any thoughts from the big dogs running boost?

Thanks for the replies Jeep´s Jake.
Does the roof weakened by lowering the piston material?
I want to run with a 6psi.
8 psi I think a lot, knock the engine?, Does your engine a stock 4.0?
The final question I can not translate into my language, I do not understand.
Regards.

Preguntenos en Espanol si quiere. Mi hermano compro Ross pistones forjados con 34cc platos(?) de 505 performance. Creo que son poco mas caros de los pistones forjados de KB, pero pueden sostener mas presion si quiere mas boost.

Thanks for the replies
Where can I buy those pistons?
Thanks.

Re: C.R. in Supercharger Stroker 4.6
Hi
At the top of my current pistons is recorded 040, is this number of 0,040 oversize?
I've sent an email to 505performance, but I have not been answered.
Thanks

Not necessarily. I would measure the piston. I had a piston that had 50 on the top. It wasn't a .050" over sized.montelibre wrote:Hi

You could run 6psi of boost safely without lowering the CR from 9.6.montelibre wrote:Thanks for the replies Jeep´s Jake.

Re: C.R. in Supercharger Stroker 4.6
With the right timing you can do a lot. Like mentioned above, 6 psi could be fine depending on your set up. What fuel injectors, timing control, and fuel octane will you use? Does that supercharger kit come with a fuel pressure Regulator? I run slightly higher compression than stock (head surfaced flat, chambers polished, Mopar Performance head gasket, and a 68-232-4 comp cam - the calculator has it at about 8.9ish) Other than that, I run 89-91 octane, 2 heat ranges cooler spark plugs, 36# injectors, and an FTC-1 from Split Second. Boost is amazing, even on a mostly stock engine. You'll be happy with it.Cheromaniac wrote:You could run 6psi of boost safely without lowering the CR from 9.6.montelibre wrote:Thanks for the replies Jeep´s Jake.
