Get fuel pressure gauge, some how route through hood and mount so it is visible. Watch as you drive it. I've had fuel pumps checking fine at idle, but during driving them lose pressure.

It looks like you now have the dizzy indexed correctly and I agree that it does sounds like you have a fuel delivery problem. That 174k old fuel pump might be the problem and I'm sure you can find a replacement for a lot less than $200.
