Trucks Cheep Jeep

Post by dingo151 »

Hello,

So I watched most of the Trucks build of their Cheep Cherokee with a 4.6 Stroker but did they ever dyno the thing? I wondering what the deal was because after they assembled it they never came back for a payoff on the motor. Although I did notice that they gasket matched the head and the Intake.......Hmmm I thought that wasn't a good idea.

More of an observation but any comments?

i think the anti gasket matching was just for the exhaust ports. also, they never did make it to the dyno, but they did have a quick blurb about the homebrew adjustable map and new intake swap was mentioned, but never fully covered. far as i know, the jeep hasnt been on air since. really is too bad, i enjoyed that entire project.

Maybe what they did was a clone of my "poor man's" stroker so they felt they didn't need to dyno it. BTW, I have the new intake and I did gasket match it to the head. It's the exhaust ports that shouldn't be gasket matched.

I thought that I heard something on the show about them putting it on the dyno. How could they not and have something that all the rest of us really want to see?!? It'd be nice. I hope to get mine on the rollers and to the track to check the stats on 'big red'

they did put it on the dyno a year later and the numbers weren't very impressive. they didn't actually show it they just kinda walked by the jeep and said " oh ya for you guys wanting dyno numbers on the stroker well....." and i think it was something like 215 hp and 280 torque or something close

Those would be very good numbers for a cheap stroker.

I think the first dyno numbers were very bad. They came back later and installed a 99 and up intake, a 62mm throttle body and a after market header. Then they showed the dyno numbers which were better. They said with the last upgrades it is no longer a cheap Cherokee.
