Re: Hey folks, Forged pistons for the 258, 232 and 4.0ltr

Jeepsr4ever wrote:Well we are thinking about a custom forge tool for a inline 6 piston. This would cover 258, 232 and 4.0ltr engines. The price per set would be $475 shipped (pistons with pins) and we could tailor size and compression needed. Any takers? We have solely been a high performance AMC V8 shop but are now switching to support the 6 cylinders. We will be bringing a product line over to the 6's and this ...hopefully will be one of them.

This site looks like a great source for info on the 6 strokers!

Glad to be aboard!!

Will you be porting customer heads, or selling heads already ported? Also, do you have estimated costs / timelines?

MC where have you been all my life? In particular the past three months! I waited over two months for a specific set of KB-IC944s and eventually had to settle for 40thou instead of 60thou. Great to see the venerable amc 6 getting some more attention from a reputable company - keep up the good work. Hopefully I have reason to buy something before too long

We will most likely be doing both (porting and selling ported heads). Pistons will come out before the heads.

Cool, Jeep guys? They could be Mopar guys, 340/360 are very popular here in Australia, they're in almost every second Chrysler Charger and Valiant!

Hey All,
Just had a LONG conversation with Glen at BullTear. THAT will be a FANTASTIC source for forged pistons! SUPER nice guy and he seems to be well informed about the stroker. Looks like they'll also be doin' rods, CNC heads, and possibly a roller cam, if we pester them about it. It'll be more of a "handmade" resource than others that are out there, and maybe if the demand is great enough the prices will be reasonable due to volume.
