confused and tired of searching

Post by unclethumbtack »

I have a 1996 cherokee (4.0/aw4/np231/9 inch/dana 44/4.88/37's) offroad rig nothing wrong with the engine however I can't stop tinkering so I want to build a stroker. I got the most rusted out 95 in the united states for parts it runs and I want to pull the engine and use it for a stroker for my 96. The problem that I see is that the 95 is obd1 and the 96 is obd2. What issues am I going to run into and solutions for putting a obd1 into an obd2 rig? Thank you for any help.

No issues. Just use your obd2 sensors and dist. Blocks and internals are same/interchangeable. Heads and manifolds differ slightly but also swap.

Edit: there aren't any issues if you just swap "long blocks".
HOWEVER be sure to use your OBD2 flexplate. As long as all your sensors match the comp. Your gold
