Pre- and Post-June 1997 Headers Difference?

Post by PolloLoco »

What is the difference? Borla wants me to buy headers that are a lot more expensive because my TJ was built in August 1996.

I do have a different hood latch than my buddy with another 97 TJ, I just don't know when his was built. My T-harness for my trailer lights is the same as a YJ, I suppose Chrysler kept some things the same at the beginning of the TJ.

I meant to respond earlier. I have no idea why they label my 17039 header for a 93-97 cherokee. 91-95 used the 7120 heads and 96-99 used the 0630 heads, so this header should be for a 91-99 cherokee. The 0331 head has smaller ports and used dual manifolds, which is why the 00-06 TJ headers are different. The 91-95YJ, the 97 and 98-99 TJ headers should be interchangeable, but maybe there is a difference in the downpipe routing/mating point with the cat(which you could modify if it's worth saving the $90 and buying the YJ one)? I would make it work. I've had the Borla for many years and would buy another one(Clifford is the only other one I would consider).
