Was just informed that my rocker bearings on my my 89 YJ 4.2 are going out and need replacing or replace the engine. Was curious if a Stroker Kit is in the cards here to fix the problem and modify at the same time. Just had a $900 gasket replacement done on the whole engine and not looking forward to ditching it and throwing away that money.
Thanks, Charles
and yes, a newb to mechanics.

Re: Rocker Bearings Out
maybe he meant the muffler bearings?
just kidding. maybe he actually said/meant ROD bearings. how long ago did you do the gasket set? some of them MAY be reusable, but i think for the most part, you may end up buying alot of them again. happy research!

Re: Rocker Bearings Out
Alright, forget everything said earlier, lol. Can anyone point me in the right direction of finding a complete kit to take a 4.2L to a 4.5L. On a tight budget but in a hurry, vacation coming up.
Thanks again, Charles

Re: Rocker Bearings Out
You're gonna need to find a 4.0 engine to put your 4.2 crankshaft and 4.2 rods into.
