aluminum valve cover

Post by dwg86 »

I am looking to replace my steel valve cover that has been "massaged" with a BFH to clear the valve springs. Anyone running an aluminum valve cover with mopar P5249464 springs? Do the springs hit the valve cover? The aluminum valve cover is leaned over to one side to clear the valve springs. Where the steel cover looks almost straight. Also, the aluminum valve cover has a lip on the bottom to keep the cork gasket in place. I thought about removing this lip so I can use the rubber gasket that is made for the steel cover. Has anyone done this, or should I just use the cork gasket?
