IAT relocation / cold weather

Post by 03GC »

Got the stroker running... so far so good. I relocated the IAT to the intake tube ( 05 Wrangler did not have port on intake). I was watching the IAT temp on my scanner and it only got about 2 deg above ambient (28 deg ).

It used to get quite a bit warmer when it was in the intake ....duh .

Question is, can an IAT run too cool ? I could drill and tap a port into the intake where the 03 GC intake locates the IAT.There is an untapped boss in the correct spot.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Paul

Not if it's just seeing ambient air temp. Your engine will probably like it so I'd say go for it. I've already done the same on my XJ.
