Re: throttle body size
So the verdict looks to be the 62mm.

Re: throttle body size
I noticed there seem to be 2 different techniques when boring the 4.0L throttle body. Some shops only cut below the butterfly and reuse the oe butterfly, some cut the whole bore and use a new aftermarket butterfly.
What do you guys think about each or what do you think a mildly daily drivern stroker that does very little off-road and pretty much pulls a boat a few times a year?

Re: throttle body size
Depends how much you want to spend. Going through the butterfly means a new butterfly plate will be needed.

Re: throttle body size
strokedjeep sells a throttle body fully bored with new plate for $90 + $70 core up to 63mm. I would be sending my TB in so there would be no core. Other sites are the same price and still using factory butterfly. I can't wait I just got the truck running great put a new upstream o2 sensor, cleaned the IAC and it runs like a different animal.
Next the 63mm throttle body, 26lbs injectors then sbc valves and a more aggressive camshaft.

Re: throttle body size
I should point out that i recently went from Double platinum NGK plugs to some Champion RC9's and it made my ping go away completely and made my sensitive throttle much more manageable.

Re: throttle body size
I'm bout due for some new rc9s. Though some people have me curious about the obd2 Jeeps liking ngks--a combo I've never tried(I really liked the autolites in the 96 pre-stroker).
