Installing new stroker longblock.....
My new stroker 4.7L longblock just showed up, built by Western Engine in colorado.
never messed with a Jeep stroker. I have the 4.0 out of my 2001 TJ and have just about all the brackets, access, and tins off and ready to put on the stroker.
I wanted to find out if there is somethings i should replace or look at before i go back in with this thing. I have already bought a new header, motor mounts, belt, and hoses. Is there anything that i should replace that im not thinking about.
The engine builder said the stock injectors are adequate being i live at sea level. Is this true? and what about stock fuel pump? anything i need to do about fuel pressure.
Do i need to look at a adjustable map sensor or anything in that area. I have a JET inline chip previoulsy, will i be able to use itt or need to use it.
Thermostat, what temp would work good in southeast texas. Its mostly hot here and not very cold winters.
Like i said i have done a little reasearch on here, but i have the feeling i don't know about everything. if you have any imformation, tips, parts list that will help with a successful install i would really appreciate it.

I personally would not use the stock injectors in a stroker application. Either larger injectors or a map adjuster or a piggy back. I have a head with some tulip shaped valves from doing that. It was on a long grade and I was on the throttle. No fuel modifications.

24lb injectors seem to be the injector size choice for most.

I'm running 24# injectors, with no problem. I think the stock injectors are going to be too small, and will cause you to run lean.

what psi is my fuel pump set at? 2001 tj
I think i remember reading that it was set at 49psi. Do i have to regulate this down because all 24lb and 27lb are at 43.5psi.
What pound are my stock injectors?
I found alot of cleaned and refurb 24lbs. injectors that are considerably cheaper then new and come with tons of warrantty. Any opinios about this and best place to buy.

A lot of the 24lbs ones are for the older style plug. Also, 24 lbs is dependent on the system psi. I've heard people using the LT1 injectors with success. Search on here for other options. I got my Mustang Cobra injectors from fiveomotorsport.com. You can't use comp springs. The retainers that fit the comp springs won't fit the 4.0 8mm valve stems.

i have read everyinjector thread on here and can't get a straight answer yet...
2001 tj, 49psi, dont have alot of money left in the budget so i need to get a set of decent price injectors that will make this motor run good. Fuel pressure regulators and all that crap sounds expensive and complicated.
So what injectors do i need (part number and best place to buy)? EV1 EV6, would be nice if no modifications are needed.
Am i going to need an adjustable map no matter what?
For start up and break-in, can i run all stock (23.2lb. injectors) and be ok. Should i try stock and see how it runs or will it be pontentially risky for the motor.

I have the Mustang Cobra injectors from fiveomotorsport.com. They are a bit large at 27lbs(IIRC) on the 49psi rail. In WOT it does get a bit rich, but better rich than lean. I lean it out using the Apexi. They have the EV6 connectors. You can also use EV1 injectors and use adapters.
Using the stock injectors are fine for break in and most driving, but if you are in WOT it may run lean.

SilverXJ, is the IIRC the model number for the cobra mustang injectors. Are they the blue ones?
