not as stupid a question as it seems, but i have a set of 677cp pistons and sealed power rings i bought on ebay, and have lost the paper that came with the rigns telling me which compression ring goes on top/bottom. one has a light pink short mark, and a dimple on the same side as the internal chamfer, and the other has a long dark pink mark and a dimple on the opposite side of the chamfer...
anyone know which ring is supposed to go on top/bottom, and which side goes up on both?
Before anyone can truely answer this question they need to know what brand rings they are and the part number. I would personally contact the manufacturer of the rings before I took some ones word for it.
The dimple ALWAYS goes up, the set of "Perfect Circle" rings I have on hand are MOLLY, # 40514, the top ring has the bevel on the top, the second ring has the bevel on the top also, the position is marked on the end flaps of the box, there is no other propaganda included.
You first say the rings are "Sealed Power" then you state they are "Perfect Circle"??

i meant perfect circle... and the dimple part helps, i specifically remember mine coming with said propaganda, and the top and second rings definitely have the bevel on different sides. the flaps don't help as the box tipped over and everything fell out... sad day...
