Post by kptuck »

I see people on here talking about an SCT tuner for Jeep strokers, but I cannot seem to find one that is made for the 4.0 liter.

Which product are you guys using?

I haven't seen anyone on here talking about a SCT tuner.. link? I know they make one for 4.7L and the 5.9L engine, but never heard anything about the 4.0L

I have SCT Pro Racer Package for my Mustang Cobra. I contacted SCT and they do indeed offer tuning for the 99+ WJ 4.0l. I'll have to by SCT's DCX X2 programmer, the code and use my PRP (Advantage II). I plan on doing a stroker in the near future so if no one else does this before me I'll start a thread when the time comes.

Do you have an estimate on how much it is for the programmer, and the software to write the custom tunes?

The X2 tuner through SCT is $99 right now and the Pro Racer Package (Advantage III software) is $349 but there is no data logging for DCX right now and it will be a while before there is.

What do you guys use to data log the WJs?

I use innovate's lm-2 on my 96xj. It's a wideband o2/obd2 scanner/data-logger to 1gb chip combo that I picked up for $360.

Straight through SCT, I actually just ordered it since it's so cheap right now. I couldn't believe it was so cheap! I asked them like 5 times to make sure they didn't miss a number on the front.

I will play with it a bit but I'm not sure how much hp & tq I could pick up on a stock 99 WJ 4.0l. My 4.0l hates the 36s and 4.56 gears. MAJOR DOG!
