Diamond Pistons

I just wanted to let everyone know i ordered my pistons. The reason for the post is to give Diamond pistons a 2 thumbs up. I would recommend Diamond to anyone wanting custom pistons, The technicians are super nice people, And really know what they are doing. So to anyone wanting custom pistons, Call Diamond first. ( and the price aint bad either).

Hesco sells their (diamond) pistons for $655.00 without pins, the listing does not say if they include rings or not.

Locks are not used on jeep rods as the pins are a press fit. are you using rods with floating pins? Hesco has a note on their site that the rods need to be modified the clear inside the piston. It is probably just removing the excess material on the top of the rod.

Rings don't come with the Hesco pistons. All you need to do to get the forged pistons to fit the rods is knock the corners off the top balance pad on the rod. Not very much either but it still has to be done.

Yes but what compression height? Seems most want to sell you what they have on the shelf or what they recommend. I didnt want to deck the block so i got the pistons to fit the block instead of fitting the block to the pistons. I actually tried to deal with Hesco, But they didnt seem intrested. They are actually not that far from me so it would have been good for both of us. I really havent made up my mind on wheather to float or not, I got the stock size pin, So i can go either way. Leaning toward floating the pins.

What would have to be done to a stock rod to make it floating? Just remove some material and put a bushing in it?

I'm probably just going to hone the rod to the correct size and drill a oil hole. I have saw several rods in different applications that don't run a bushing, so i think ill give it a try.

Not quite sure what you mean, But my Jeep pins measure .931. My rods measure .929. So its a .002 interferance fit.
