Anyone deal with B&G Performance PCM
I was on another board for another project and somebody gave me a link to B&G Performance PCM. Anyone heard of anything on these guys? I know I've seen some things on tuning on this board but B&G claims to be the first to tune chrysler pcm's with out any additional components. I'm thinking they could pull another 10-15 horspower and 15-20 ft lbs of torque out of my rig.

They worked with the HEMI LX and Truck crowd for awhile.
Definately can get you a few HP, but I would make sure you get what you are asking for... tuning remotely with no knock sensors is not my idea of "comfortable"!

I live about 45 minutes from them so I was thinking of making an appointment over the winter.

Go for it... they are more than capable of putting down a good tune on your factory PCM.
make sure you take any MAP adjusters OUT of the mix while they are working on it.

I am running one of their modified PCM on my stroker. It works great but I had to send themm a base line dyno run to get it correct.

That's good to know that they wanted a baseline dyno. Did your dyno include AFRs? Can you post it? Did you dyno it at the same place afterwards? I'm of the belief that each stroker is a custom engine and as such needs it's own custom tune, not some cookie cutter programming. Once I sell this 01 XJ next week, I'll have funds to get my Unichip tuned. I like the wheels and hood, btw(96 ftw!).

I'll definately take a "cookie cutter" tune that sets the internal "displacement" to the new size, sets the correct injector flow rates, and thats IT. the rest adjust via a PSC1 or something.
On these speed density setups, those two adjustments will get you most of the way there (on reasonable cams).... hardest part is getting it to realize that the new MAP levels are for a different displacement...

I have scanned the dyno runs but they didi not come out well. Basically the answer to questions are yes, I did dyno it after the PCM was reflashed. Initially I had/have an Apexi tuner installed and used that to dial in the motor and sent the results B&G. The inital tune with the factory PCM was way too lean @16.8 to 1. The final tune shows 179.21peak horsepower and 232.46 lb/ft torque with 31" tall tires and 4.10 gears a/f ratio was a flat 12.8 to 1. I could more out of it if I changed the cam again since my heads are so big I can not find the correct cam.

An alternative to this is the Weber Redline Computer and harness http://www.redlineweber.com/. I went with the Redline kit about 6 months ago and I havent looked back. While it is not emmisions legal in California and some other states because it is tuneable. I moved to IL. this summer after having installed it in CA on my 4.7 CJ-7. I towed a 6x10 U Hual trailer from CA to IL a week after install. I went the northern route which took me throught the Vail and Eisenhower pass in Colorado which is better than 10,000 feet above sea level not a hitch.
The reason I went with this is I got tired of screwing around trying to change the ECM on a Howell kit (GM 4.3 TBI) I went through online tuners, emulators and custom chips for a year and a half. None of it worked. I installed the Redline kit and after about an hour of programing it was done.
For you guys that are running MPI all you would need is the harness and the ECM. The software is so easy a "caveman could do it" You can tune around any mods on your engine. You can also run two different MAPS on the computer and shift between them with a touch of a button.
The system is rock solid no hick ups no muse no fuss, it is also completely transparent plug in your laptop and watch what the engine is doing.
They configure the ECM to your application so its pretty much plug and play.
Its worth taking a look at.

Laughing them links never work. My kit was a bit different since I had to buy the throttle body and everything so it cost me 2100. The stuff is top notch they cherry pick the best fuel pumps, injectors and on and on.
I was so damm impressed with the whole thing the TBI is a billet unit and sweet.
The only problem I have is that on cold mornings starting is a bit of an issue but not bad.But that is also the nature of running a wet manifold. I talked to Bud @ Redline and asked about going with MPI. He said it it wouldnt be an issue everything would plug into the harness. Just let him know what throttle body I would be running and stuff like that. I would also need a crank trigger so my situation is a bit different.
Bud is very familiar with Jeeps since the first kit installed was on his own personal Jeep.

$2,100 ?!? LOL,
I would like to get my pcm calibrated so that it runs more efficiently and makes a bit more power. I would never spend $2100 to tune anything or for a fuel management system on my vehicle especially with some or a few "cherry picked" parts in a kit. A race car is a different story but most Jeeps aren't race cars.
