Starting to gather info and parts for a stroker build on my 99 WJ. The plan is to build from a donor engine on the side and then swap it out into my daily driver WJ. The old WJ engine will then get transplanted to my 89 Jeepspeed XJ.
I work for a pretty big name in the Jeep/automotive aftermarket, and have access to machinery, dynos and a very talented engineering department, so the build should go pretty smoothly. I will try to put up as much info as I can as the build progresses.
I understand the WJ block differs from earlier blocks and XJ blocks, but I believe is the same as the 2000-2006 TJ. Is this correct? Ideally I will get a WJ donor, but after the cash for clunkers program I am finding a lot of junked WJ's with no engine, or engines filled with sodium silicate. So if the 00-06 TJ engine will work as well, it greatly helps my chances of finding something to work with.

Re: New WJ stroker build - Introduction and question
I used a 1999 WJ block in my 2003 TJ. Same block, no problems with the install.
