cloyes double roller issue

Post by brokenujoint »

if its not one thing its another..

after having my parts sitting in my garage for about 2 yrs, i started putting it together. got the short block done, put the roller on and this is what i get...http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v133/ ... 091100.flv hopefully the link works.. my double roller timing chain is completely sloppy. stock cam, 258 crank, 96 cherokee block. cloyes pn 9-3127. cant send it back for a refund even with receipt and cloyes has this disclaimer on there box, Image .. they sy that they make no warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.. WTF.. buy at your own risk?

Will they exchange it for a .005 or .010 reduced center distance set? There website offers the reduced center distance sets.

If not order a reduced set and send that back in its place  Just do something to the box so us jeep strokers guys will know the part is boxed wrong.

I doubt a reduced center would fix that.. that is a whole lot of slop. Its the correct part number, maybe they just put the wrong parts in the box?

I just put a double roller on my 96 block with the 258 12 cw crank and the chain is tight as a drum..maybee 1/8 inch of play. I am using the comp cam . I can't imagine why yours is so loose
