4.0 Block Compatibility Q

Post by jeepNV »

I am buildign a 4.0 stroker for a 99 jeep tj. I currently have block casting #53010449 and am considering using a 4.0 block from a "97 TJ for the new base. Are there any differences in the early TJ year blocks that I need to be aware of? I can see/find no differences visually other than the casting #'s. Thanks,

It should be the same with NVH cast into the side of the block. I used a 96 block in my 99 tj.
