Decided against Lunati.. the ones that look interesting have a more aggressive ramp than the comp cams I had.

In short Jim said that dual pattern would kill low end torque.. and mentioned that it was a gimmick created by Crane... but then he later said that putting a 1.7 rocker on the exhaust only would be a good idea.. isn't that some what similar to dual pattern? more lift and slightly more duration?

That's exactly what that does. It effectivly turns the cam into a dual pattern...

Yes it is (a BIG cam), the cam in my 360 is a 232 @ .050 with about .500" lift and it makes 521hp. :rockout:

Anyone heard of this company http://performanceresearchinc.com/pages/products.html?

Never mind about that. They have some seriously expensive stuff.
Chris, We manufacture the highest quality cams and lifters you can buy period. Because of this are products are more expensive than say a crower lifter. Our lifters are the range of $70.00 each, and our cams up to 55mm are $1200. This will be the last set of lifters and cam your truck will ever need if it is for on and off road. Our cams have never had a failure in NASCAR,NHRA,ADRL,and OUTLAW MAD DOG PROMOD racing.

That's some serious sh*t right there. The "floating" flat tappet lifters look interesting...

I'm thinking of going with this Isky cam:

Intake:
Adv. duration: 258
.050 duration: 208
Centerline: 108
Lift: .464"

Exhaust:
Adv. duration: 264
.050 duration: 214
Centerline: 116
Lift: .480"

LCA: 112*

Overlap: 37*

This will give me a DCR of 8.05:1 (vs. 8.29:1 w/ 68-231-4)

They also suggested this if I wanted to try something different:

Intake:
Adv. duration: 264
.050 duration: 214
Centerline: 103
Lift: .480"

Exhaust:
Adv. duration: 270
.050 duration: 221
Centerline: 117
Lift: .496"

LCA: 110*

Overlap: 47*

This cam is deceiving. At a glance it looks like a big top end cam with lots of duration and lift. But with a LSA of 110 and a 7* advance I bet it has good bottom end as well. Did you run this one threw the Dyno Silver? What were the #'s?

I did.

Image

The line with the diamond is the first one I listed (258/264) and the solid line is the 264/270 cam. That was taken at seat-to-seat.. using .050 some torque gain is shown and some low end is lost and some high end gained, but its about the same loss/gain on both cams when going between .050 and seat to seat.

Figure I'd throw in the .050" graph too.

The larger cam is quite similar to Hesco's H-6474 grind

I like the looks of the second cam (straight line no diamond). If all i did was rock crawl / offroad id pick the other... but i like to burn it up on the street, and the second cam looks like it will pull pretty good at WOT / higher rpm's.

Guess it just depends what you want out of your jeep.

Oops... I think I screwed up on which files had which cam in them... i'll update the images in a bit

Updated... hit refresh. And if you are curious the previous smaller cam was the compcam 68-231-4... which.. doesn't really matter now since I just overwrote the old files...

X2. Looks like a great street cam. I would be willing to bet that the OBDII would have fits with it tho...

yah... the extra overlap would probably get your Random Misfire codes going pretty good... and make the IAC work damn hard to try and figure out what to do... :-P

I bet it would sound GREAT, however.

Yeah.. i'm not going to test that theory out. I'll just go with this one:

Intake:
Adv. duration: 258
.050 duration: 208
Centerline: 108
Lift: .464"

Exhaust:
Adv. duration: 264
.050 duration: 214
Centerline: 116
Lift: .480"

LCA: 112*

Overlap: 37*

It has less over lap then Isky's 25/26 (39*) cam and Seanyb505 is running that without issue. Right?
