New Renix stroker need some help
I have an 89 Cherokee that i just built a new 4.6 for, well I get it in and fired up and seems to idle good but when I give it 1/4 to 1/2 throttle it spits and sputters. I took it for a quick test spin and as long as I am just idling down the road or more than half throttle its ok but just alittle gas and it just won;t go. Does anyone have any idea what maybe the problem could be? Thanks for any help.

did you index the distributor before you drop it in?
Have you cut the dist. foot or ears, so you can adj you dist.
Plugged cat?
Just the first thing that popped in to my mind.

Re: New Renix stroker need some help
If you have indexed the distributor properly... it sounds like the CAMSHAFT position sensor is bad or unplugged.
the first item on the page.

My Renix will run without the sensor plugged in but sputters anything over 1/4 throttle. (or if a good slash of water hits the connector)
easy to check.

Oh yea here are some of the parts i used in my build:
258 crank and rods fully polished

later model block and head
Head fully ported with combustion chambers
LS1 hollow stem valves 2'in/1.55ex.
titanium retainers with manly nextec springs

Crower roller rockers
custom .080 wall pushrods
skimped on the header..ebay crap
