Why not new parts and then sell them if you don't want to use them?

Yeah if the nose was a little soft that would explain the wear... heck maybe the noise as well... maybe the odd angle on the nose was tossing the lifters up a little.

One long shot but I've actually seen it happen, check and make sure the push rod tip is actually completely seated into the bottom of the rocker. I've seen aftermarket pushrods that didn't quite seat into some aftermarket RR's on a 5.0. in effect the pushrod acted like a longer one.

Spoke to the RMA guy at Comp Cam and he has no idea why. He couldn't even look at my parts any further to see if there was something he could have missed as they were discarded already. He said sometimes it just happens. :huh: Of course it has to happen on my engine.

Checked the push rods and didn't see anything to be concerned about in the way they fit on the lifter or rocker.
