Fuel Injection...

In a few weeks I'm probably going to be swapping my carb'd 4.2 for a stroker. Now heres the Question I want to go fuel injection, can I use the Howell TBI Kit or do I need to go with the Mopar kit or junkyard swap? What are my options here?

I think one of the easiest things to do would be pull the EFI setup and ECU off a JY motor. I have a friend building a fuel injected turbo VW and he is going to use a megasquirt EFI controler, the megasquirt looks like it has a lot of adjustability and options. I dont know what all of the options are for EFI setups or what the best is, but I would assume the easiest would be a factory jeep system. This is probably the least expensive otion as well.

Hello Matt87YJ, As fedrusion is mention, MegaSquirt aftermarket fuel injection system is what i would recommend you. It's a relativly cheap system and with some common sense it's easy to adapt to you engine.

I think that I can speak to this with a certain degree of authority.
I have a 4.2 that I have installed a Howell system on.
I'm not sure that I would use this on a Stroker as my first choice.
Call Howell and ask for Troy, he is their modification guy.
I have transferred two MPI fuel injection systems into jeeps previously.
I think that this would be the easiest. Also not from experience but from reading through this site for a few years daily
I would entertain using "Flying Ryans" tuning service with a Jeep transplant EFI.
I have also built a Megasquirt system but I am waiting on getting my Stroker running with the original Renix MPI EFI system
as I want to change things in stages to simplify troubleshooting. Once I get it running to a certain minimum then I will swap to a larger TB, then to the Megasquirt. That way I can diagnose what I have changed easier.

currently running a renix computer but have a completed megasquirt 3 sitting on my desk waiting for a harness to show up to install it. building the megasquirt was really easy and took about 10 hours gimme 2 weeks and i should have the jeep up and going on the ms3 and i'll tell you if i like it.
