I'm having a hard time trying to find articles about choosing fuel injectors. It seams I always come up with just an injector calculator. Putting numbers in the calculator,I come up with 26# injectors, which I have read are too big. Now I am finding out there are EV1, EV6 injectors...I am sooooo confused

What fuel injectors?
I have been tying to figure out what fuel injectors will fit my stroker(2003 TJ). I bought a set of Ford injectors that I thought would work(recommended buy five o motor sports). The part numbers on the injectors are XR3E-C5B, 0280155865. From doing more research, it seams these flow 24lbs at 39psi. With the 2003 jeep fuel psi @ 49, are these injectors going to be too big? I have also looked at the accel 24# injectors. They are rated 24# @ 43.5 psi.

. Does anyone have a link to a good fuel injector site, or point me in the right direction?

Re: What fuel injectors?
Look for injectors 0280155849, was used in Ford 99 Taurus/Sable. These flow [email protected] and have EV6 connector as in your harness.
You can get a used set for $30 off eBay.
Will flow 25.47 @ 49PSI.

Re: What fuel injectors?
The LT1s I'm using are rated 24#@43.5psi and are 25.5#@49psi. I've maxed the duty cycle via PSC in order to get 12.5@WOT in 5th, so I'd say they're a bit small for my app but should be good for some strokers. They have the 6-hole pintles and are ev1(better for 99 and under).

Re: What fuel injectors?
There are a bunch of injector options, but first you need to know what system you're working with. 87-95(renix-obd1) 4.0s had a 39psi rail w/ return and the 96+(obd2) had a 49psi rail. I believe 87-98 injectors are ev1 style connectors and 99+ are ev6. I use mid-90s LT1 injectors that are rated 24#@43.5 psi and flow 25.5# on the 96 49psi. rail. I've tried the single pintle Ford blue tops(24#@39psi, ~27#@49psi), but could tell that it ran better with the lt1s.

Re: What fuel injectors?
i have a 98 with 49 psi. thanks for the help , just alot of info floating around and not sure what the best way to go would be. I have the whole harness for the ev6 setup that came with the 99+ intake i bought , so I have a couple of ways to go.

Re: What fuel injectors?
I have the XR3E 9F593 C5B from a Ford Cobra. I feel they are too big. They flow about 28lb at 49psi. I'm going to try a set of 0280155849 from a 1999 Ford Taurus and see how they work out. They flow about 26lb at 49psi.
There is also the Ford XR3Z 9F593 A4B / XR3E 9F593 A4B which flows about 24lb at 49psi.

Re: What fuel injectors?
oops had a mental block . slipped my mind that you are not doing so well with your project. just a wild thought on that issue , is it possible that when installing the cam you are accidentally somehow putting a burr on the cam bearing when you are installing the cam?

Re: What fuel injectors?
i think i may be facing a similar problem. my XJ is an '88/Renix with a '94 year 4.6L stroker from Titan engines (I know, I wish I hadn't). intake mani was updated to '99 as well, but the TB/fuel rail are '96 and bored to 62mm. I had gotten the 24# from fiveomotorsports as well, but seems to be running rich and the plugs are black as hell. I did not initially install the motor, twas a good friends uncle/trustworthy mechanic, but no jeep whiz. now 2 years later i am trying to bring her back to life. for one I don't know that he ever even properly adjusted the TPS which he somehow mated to the newer TB without using hesco's adapter. seems like larger injectors/higher psi fuel rail could would cause it running rich, but i think i do need to get a good af meter. does have an adjustable fpr installed, but i can't remember about the MAP. anyone else out there with a renix XJ with newer motor/intake setup that can comment? thanks

Re: What fuel injectors?
So your injectors are 24# on the renix 39psi setup or do you have the FPR set at a higher psi? You should turn down the FPR if it is adjustable. If not, try a 21-22# injector and then take a look at the plugs.
