13 is saying that the PCM isn't seeing anything different from the MAP sensor. MAP sensor may need to be replaced.

15 Is saying that it is losing the signal from the vehicle speed sensor, which is located on the transfercase tail cone.

Could the VSS cause the cut-out at 4000 RPMS? Sounds like that part just needs to be replaced....
If it feels right, then STROKE it!

I checked the codes again, and its actually 13 and 14, not 15. 14 says;
14 MAP sensor input above or below acceptable voltage. This points to the MAP sensor then, or maybe electrical faults?

Map sensor or wiring. Start with that.

Yes, I think the VSS just needs to be replaced, if it were a factor in your cutting out I would think it would do it certain speeds, not RPM.

I'm going to buy an MAP sensor on wednesday. About how long will it take for the check engine light to go off if that was the problem?

I did a little experiment, I unplugged the battery for a few minutes, then plugged it back in. I made it flash the codes, the codes 13 and 14 went away. I go to start it up, and it takes 5 tries for it to even fire up. It would sputter and die, until the check engine light came back on and it would run. Checked the codes, and it was 13 and 14. If I'm not mistaken, its most likely a faulty MAP sensor. I'll pick one up tomorrow and let you know what happens.

I got to thinking, and the voltage thing really made me think it was the wiring. I checked it again, extensively, I even unraveled some of the tape on the big wire bundle, and sure thing, I found a broken wire. It led right up to the MAP sensor. I soldered it back up, fired up the engine, now it runs pretty much perfectly, and I can rev it until it blows up! Engine light went off. Way more power, now I'm feeling the power of this stroker, and I'm impressed at this little 6 cyl! I used to have a V8 bronco that had over 300 horse power that is comparable to this!

Thanks for all your replies and help, It made all the difference. I would have never even tried to build a stroker without everyones help. Thanks a million.

What do you think I should do next? 3 inch lift? 31'' mud tires? Snorkel? Heck yes!
