Cam installation question

Post by jn2630 »

Ok, never done this before. There is a hole where the cam goes on the back (bell housing area). Is this where the 2 3/64 freeze plug goes? Any other thing about cam installation worth mentioning?

Thanks so much, I'm so glad to have this forum to help me out! You guys are great!

There is a freeze plug that goes in the back of the block. IIRC its a rather thin plug.

And you want to make sure the camshaft does not rub this plug when assembled. A bad way to control camshaft thrust. Creates problems if the cam wears a hole in the plug as well.
