jeep bog off the line
i have a 1994 jeep wrangler with a 4.6L hesco stroker kit. it has the mopar stage 1 camshaft, 24lb injectors, 99intake, 2.5" exhaust, and 3 speed auto trans with 2000 stall converter. I have indexed the distributor and checked it 3 times it runs good and no problem starting just off the line at WOT it seems to bog. I have tried to flash the converter and it flashes to 1900rpm and it should be around 2300. the old converter that was 1800stall did the exact same thing. I have change fuel filter, pump, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. it doesn't have any codes either. Checked camshaft to see if maybe the lobes were worn and it is fine. Any ideas?

That's a stumper but I would suspect your getting way too much or too little fuel.
Really Bogs are not a common thing in FI engines
Check plugs for wetness immediately after a bog, I'd also swap a good coil in off another XJ just to check, or replace it. The next thing would be double checking the Cam sensor and then maybe a new TPS and MAP. An Air/fuel ratio gauge would tell you plenty, wideband for accuracy but even a narrow band will show you if you're severely rich or lean during the bog.

I'm having this same problem...it idles but it doesn't seem like a strong idle. It bogs up til about 1500-2000 then starts to run strong. If I accelerate hard it smells like cat converter. Cruizing doesn't really smell but if I Compression brake it smells like "SHITE". Kind of gives me a head ache while driving around town. I'm almost certain it's running rich since it's got 24lb. injectors and i've never messed with the map. Now the real question is who sells a cheap device that I can check my air fuel ratio???? I need help! Rubicon's next month!!!

Start with the basics.. check your distributor indexing, your MAP sensor and your TPS. Hesitations are usually traced to the TPS.

Agree this is basic stuff (so moved to Basics), again Check for vacuum leaks, check your air/fuel ratio while the symptom occurs (Autometer narrow band gauges can be had on Ebay for $30 bucks (and yes it will tell you if something is seriously wrong, it just wont give you precise averaged air/fuel ratio, but you don't need that right now). Check your cat for broken or clogged catalyst (it should make no noise when you shake it and it should look like looking through a really thick screen door. the "honeycomb" (it's usually called that even though it's usually more squared) should not have any blockages. Check for wet or really sooty plugs... check for overly large plug gaps, and check that your coil is okay (by swaping a known good one). Put a multimeter from Radio shack (5 or 10 bucks) on your TPS, check your MAP... Got to cover these basics before anything else is worth looking at.
