Yes, more questions.
I have the basic build figured out with exception to fuel injection. Someone made comment that Accel's DFI Thruster should be good, as the rest of their products have been decent. Is there anyone else out there that has used it?
What I really need to know is which is the best setup to use? It's going to go into a CJ7 with NP435/D300.
Some of my research thus far:
Stock 4.0 Injection seams to be limited by cam specs. Anything different causes issues with stock computer. Other than that, it's just an injector swap and regulating fuel pressure in rail to keep things in check. Am I missing anything here? What about timing issues? It seams the least expensive if you can get all the parts from one donor, but also seams the least adjustable.
Mopar MPFI - seams basically the same as Stock 4.0 injection but saves me all the time in harness mods. Timing sensor is different than the flywheel sensor used above. Still not as adjustable. It sure seams pricey for what you really get in the end, a stock 4.0 injection system that you can fit to any 258/242.
Accel DFI Thruster - this looks to be the cats meow if it can do everything that it says it can. Full control of fuel maps and ignition curves, along with a plethora of other stuff. It's about the same money as the Mopar MPFI setup, but still considerably more expensive than a modified Stock Injection system. I do not know if this has a knock sensor in it as of yet. If it does, that would nice when it comes to dialing in ignition. Someone with some experience using this would be greatly appreciated. I'm leaning this way because of the adjustability and the ability to run virtually any cam profile.
Thanks in advance on your input,
Brian

Well you wont be swapping cams all the time (or at least probably wont unless that's just something you enjoy
so ask yourself which cam or more precisely what kind of use you have for the rig. In my own experience there are some Carb specific cams (258 cams) that the stock ECU doesn't like... But I have a RV cam with little overlap and stump pulling torque off idle and the stock injection (I don't even need larger injectors) has no problem with it... On the other side of the coin many "hot" street grinds with much more overlap (but not super lumpy) seem to also work okay with the factory injection --based on the opinions around here anyway.

Maybe we should do the list here on the forum, which cam works with the stock injection and which doesn't?
But to stay on the topic I have to say I'd love to have all the tuning possibilities that Accel gives. It would permit to go with high compression and compensate the potential ping with the timing- very cool feature.

Re: Accel DFI Thruster vs. Mopar MPFI vs. Stock 4.0 Injection
My choice of cam is the only thing that hasn't been nailed down in the long block part of the build. I wanted to make sure I had everything figured out with injection systems before I chose something that may preclude me from using something else.
My plan is to maximize torque off-idle to ~3.5k rpm as that's all this engine will ever see even when driven on street. More than likely not even that when offroad.
I'll be contacting Accel again to see if I can find out more info on the system. So far customer service has been sub par in my opinion, but the jury is still out at this point.
I'll also start a thread for which cams work with what as suggested.

The Accel system seems like it gives some good bang for the buck. for $1,500 you get a ECU, wiring harness, and a distributor. No need to worry about crank position signals. I have no experience with it, but the only thing cheaper you could find would be a megasquirt which is $400.00 but then you need to make a wiring harness and figure out how to trigger it.
