Lifter Bore Grooving

Post by dingo151 »

Hey,

How important is it that you groove the lifter bores or run camsaver lifters? Do 4.0's have a problem with cam life or is this just a precaution.

Thanks
Dean

All flat tappet cams may be subject to failure, since the reduction of Zinc in the oils. You need to run oil with higher Zinc levels. I have read flat tappet cams need at least 1200ppm zinc.
