I was looking at the Comp Cams catlaog at their 68-200-4 cam, it is 252 adverised duration and 206 @ ,050. I checked my Mopar Jeep engines book, and it quotes the adverised duration of the stock @ 270 deg. it does not show ,050 numbers. Lift o the Comp cams was .433 and the stock was .405 So the Comp cams does open a little wider, but seems to have a shorter duration.

Has anybody else looked at aftermarket cams vs the stock 4.0 cam?

Stock duration at .050 is only 197. It ramps up slowly, peaks quickly and then slowly ramps down again. Not very performance oriented. I have looked at stock vs. after market cams. I ran the stock cam for a little while and I wasn't impressed. I am in the process of swapping in the comp 68-201-4 with a set of 1.7 roller rockers. My end specs will be .475 lift, 260 dur. advertised and 212 @ .050, LSA of 110 and 4* advance. I will let you know the results when I finally get it back together.
