Stroker Installed, No Start

Exactly as it says. 91 XJ, new 4.6L cranks and turns but doesn't start.
Has fuel pressure (known because an O ring was leaking at Injector 4 upon initial cranking)
Has spark,

I set the motor at TDC and put the rotor touching #1. exactly where marked before removal.

Oil pump primed properly.

Any thoughts?

What about spark? did you check for that? Ary sure you are not 180 deg out on the distributor?

CPS plugged in? dizzy plugged in? coil wire? coil plugged into harness?

Got spark
coil plugged in, dizzy plugged in, everything looks exactly as it did before


I'm a little confused with setting the timing, here's what I did::

Set #1 to TDC
Set oil pump to perpendicular to the block (with screwdriver)
Two nubs on the dizzy (180* from each other) line up perpendicular to the block (parallel to oil pump slot)
Rotor sits approx. 5 o clock position (front of motor being 3)
Rotor "clicks" in, only in one position

I was just going to say that. You need to verify that you are at TDC on the compression stroke.

Did you use an aftermarket cam? They could have the oil pump gear not completely on the dot. Try sliding the dizzy in one notch clockwise or counterclockwise. Mine wouldnt start at the right place but when I slid it in one notch clockwise it caught right away. Youre supposed to lock the body to the rotor, but when I did that I couldnt get the bolt hole on the dizzy to line up with the bolt hole on the block, I had to turn it slightly. Grinding the ears or tabs off the dizzy allowed me to turn the whole thing but still have the rotor and points lined up properly.
