I would like to know this too. I'm using an OBD1 setup, and the stock limiter is at 5250. With my cam and engine build, power starts to dump off around then anyway, but sometimes i think if my next upshift landed at higher RPM, i'd be in a better position in the power band.

Nick, [email protected], upped the rev limited on my OBD II PCM to 6000. However, it does me no good because the AW4 still shifts at the stock rpm.

IIRC, the OBD2 ecu's can be manipulated, but i think the OBD1 ecu roms are "set in stone"

Hmm... OBDII's can be flashed?

Is there a tool available or is it proprietary information?

You can get those crappy HyperTech style programmers, but they can only do so much. If you want it programmed you usually have to send it off to a place that does that.

I tried the +500rpm redline and the 128mph governor(+14mph) settings on the HPP3 and it didn't do jack except cause mine to ping and set cels. The only good thing it did was clear the cel and program it back to stock(whew!).

I think Hesco can reprogram the ODB1 computers. I think it is what they use on their EFI retro kit

That was my experience as well.. pinging on a stock engine. I didn't get a cel though. I sold it and purchased the Apexi

I've already contacted a Unichip custom tune shop that's 11miles away(up 270) and am waiting for for quotes. If my tune can produce results like Commanche91s, then it's worth the $10/hp/lb-ft(x50).

The unichip is a good unit no doubt. The only thing that I didn't like about it no end user tuneability. But in your case it doesn't matter.
