Main girdle to rod cap clearance? + woodruff?

Post by SilverXJ »

I put the main girdle on today and I found that there is only .020" of clearance between the #1 rod cap and the girdle. Is that enough?

one other quick question, can someone verify that the harmonic damper's woodruff key is 3/8" x 7/8" for the 258 crank?

.020" should be close enough maximum slops shouldn't exceed .006" at the rod cap.
There may be different keys depending on year? but I certain it's not 3/8" wide! my measurements tell me they're 3/16" wide
