Bare with this noob..

I was thinking about building a 4.8L Stroker...

In order to achieve this, i would need to have custom 4" pistons made .. does this sound correct? What about doing a .080 overbore... thats still a little less than 4" (3.955)... or does that still put you up into custom piston category and its worth it to go as big as you can go with 4"?

So if i was to be in the market for custom 4" pistons, do you guys have any recommendations on where to purchase them?

When it comes down to the pin would a floating pin be better? Is it going to raise the costs to make it unjustifyable compared to just having a 1.38" pressed pin? Or at this point it doesnt matter to much either way? I would assume this would make the cost cheaper going with SBF pistons instead of custom ones... but again im a noob!

SEARCH!! Search for "sonic" and read up on what is recommended in terms of looking over the .060 hurdle

Diamond has one of the fastest turn arounds for custom pistons, Very nice quality as well. If you are going to go for custom pistons then why not spend the extra to get your rods bushed to the SBF size to take advantage of the cir clips groves in the pistons.

Thanks the "sonic" keyword helped me out a bit. It sounds as if a 4" bore is pretty hard to achieve...
