Cylinder spacing on a 4.0 Block is 4.380" center to center. Lifter bore spacing is 2.02 center to center .903 lifter, Center pushrod, oil through pushrod.

Isn't that the same bore spacing as a SB Ford?

Maybe you could buy the heads directly from Dart and ask them not to drill the head bolt holes. A welder does wonders with an aluminum head.
I wonder if they kept the same spacing with the OHC motors?

ooo... OHC would be interesting... probably start running into limits on the strength of the block and parts there....

The Ford modular engines use a 100mm cylinder spacing, that is less than 4 inches. I wonder what the spacing is on the Chevy (4.3?) inline 6 they use in the trailblazers, that is an OHC motor.
