Hey everybody!


I've been reading up on the board about boring out a TB vs. replacing an early intake with a 99+ Intake and I was wondering if anyone that had some experience with both had an opinion of which they would choose to do if they had to do it over again? I'm building a mild 4.6 and I'm trying to decide if I should bore out my TB or find a manifold or both?

On my 4.0 I did both at the same time, there is a noticeable increase in acceleration, the strokers need more air so I can't see how they wouldn't benefit from both.

Change that vs. to an &.

i did these mod's day after day,

the first day i made a 63 TB, installed it and immdietly felt a far better throttle response, the next day i install a borla header and the 99+ intake and the engine is now a killer, i love it!

coclusion - do both!

btw, if your intrested in a throttle body bore out, i make them and sell over ebay, or you could have oleshot do one for you.
my price to a forum member would be 60$ + shipping.

I have a modified Mustang 65mm TB bolted with a tapered 65mm to 62mm TB spacer onto my original '92 manifold. The throttle response is super sharp but I now have the intake manifold/PS pump/tensioner bracket with idler pulley from an '01 XJ ready to swap in. Just need to port-match the manifold runners to the combination gasket (my head is already gasket-matched) before I drop it in.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm going to a jeep swapmeet this weekend and that's one of the things on my list. I can get a 99+ intake from a Jy close to me for 75$ is that about right price wise?

sounds about right. but what all does it come with? any other brackets?
