Anyone know why Durabond has a "special oil control cam bearing set with an OD groove for number 2 and 3 position" cam bearing option for the 2001 and earlier block, but not the 2002 and later blocks? Part number N7B. The bearing part number Durabond has listed for the 2002 and later engine is N10. Is there any difference in blocks and is one set of bearings better than the other?

The purpose of the OD oil groove is to allow for adjustment of the oil feed clock position. It's meant for blocks with less than optimal cam journal oil feed. It's not crucial for the Jeep engine. The oil feed for the Jeep's cam journals are already in the optimal position. Not sure why Dura-Bond sells them with the groove for the Jeep engine, maybe they're cross-utilizing bearing shells between several different platforms.
