I’m in need of advice from those who know or been there done that! I have a stock 4.0 and wanting to bolt her up to my AMC 727 torqueflite. I have searched and found information to use the 42 re automatic flex plate from 91-95 era jeeps.

Here’s the two maybe three things.
1: This is a 96 4.0 (obd2) and had a manual trans.(will my Crank position sensor from the manual work on my 42re flex plate?

2: what torque converter do I choose. Bone stock amc 727 one for a 258? I would like a slight bump in performance in this purchase.

3: any advice on placement of the cps sensor on my bellhousing. Any pictures that one of you guys have where this has been done? Links ect?
I know I can cut a nice spot in the bell housing. What I don’t know is how close the cow needs to be to read the ring thingy.

I know Hesco made one for the crank separate of the trans but 359$‍ woah

As for the torque converter, going for one meant for a 258 with a slight performance boost sounds like a solid plan. When it comes to placing the CPS sensor on the bellhousing, aiming for proximity without touching is key.
